Hullo, I institute my old de-activated jail cell phone, all the same takes a charge and powers up, and so I can look at the pics on it.I'yard hoping to discover a mode to transfer pics to a PC some how, but I'm non tech savvy. The phone is a Sony-Ericsson Z500a, and was through Cingular. It has a Gemplus 64K smartchip simcard (de-activated of course) only I guess the pics are stored in the memory of the phone itself.Any help in this would make you my hero! Thanks, Rich in Iowa.

SO long as the phone turns on, yous should be able to get the pics and whatever else yous want off of it. If it has a mini USB port on information technology y'all tin can take a expect effectually for a string or only buy one for a few bucks so you can rig information technology to your PC. From there the PC should see it equally a storage device of sorts and you should be able to browse/retrieve all of the photos.

Hi, and thanks for the message and suggestions. I actually did get a string (as you mentioned) a while back that connects the prison cell to the usb port on the pc, merely nothing happens when they're hooked upwards... I expected a window with options to open or something. I've looked upwards help topics, etc., concerning AutoPlay settings, and tinkering with the "Import Pictures and Videos" dialog box, but nothing will even acknowledge that there is a device (the cell) hooked upwardly to the pc. We live in rural Iowa (moved here from Oregon 3+ years ago, talk about culture shock), so I may just end upward venturing to an AT+T store in Des Moines with the jail cell and string and all that and run into if at that place's something they can do. Appreciate the help, and if you lot call up of somrthing else I can try, please permit me know!
All the best, Rich.

There is probably somthing in the phone menus about PC connection, or mass storage device. That has to be turned on usually before the estimator will run across it when its plugged in.
#v
I went through all menus on this cell, and plant zippo most those options.... I estimate being an older phone (2003-2004) would explicate that.
Give thanks yous, Rich.

If there was any software that came with the phone, try installing it then see if the telephone will evidence when you plug it in. Either that or yous can check the manufacturer's support site to encounter if they have a commuter of sorts for information technology.
#7
No software, mfr. support site seems like the next logical step.
thanks, Rich.

Actually, all the answers were good, my biggest trouble here was probably the age of the phone, and lack of modern features. My last try before going to the mfr.'s support squad was to go to my CURRENT prison cell provider (The states Cellular) with my problem...they were able to claw up my old de-activated telephone from Cingular to my current phone, load all my pics to it, which and then had to exist manually transferred to the chip in it, which allowed the pics to and then be loaded into my PC.(whew!) The customer service rep at US Cellular spent a couple of hours with me on this, so I bought a new phone as well. Thanks to all of you, I'd been stumped over this for the concluding couple of years.
All the best, Rich.

I recollect Richbob,s suggestion is the but real option especially with an erstwhile phone. Notwithstanding, my current phone service is with SmartTalk, aka TracPhone Wireless. Do they have storefronts with man tech support? I think i'grand out of luck.

Hi, and thanks for the message and suggestions. I really did get a cord (as you lot mentioned) a while back that connects the jail cell to the usb port on the pc, but aught happens when they're hooked up... I expected a window with options to open up or something. I've looked up help topics, etc., concerning AutoPlay settings, and tinkering with the "Import Pictures and Videos" dialog box, but nothing will fifty-fifty acknowledge that at that place is a device (the cell) hooked up to the pc. Nosotros live in rural Iowa (moved here from Oregon 3+ years ago, talk almost culture daze), so I may just end upward venturing to an AT+T shop in Des Moines with the cell and cord and all that and see if there's something they can do. Appreciate the help, and if you recall of somrthing else I can try, please let me know!
All the all-time, Rich.
I'm going to assume you got this problem stock-still. But this is for others who may come up forth. What I did for my telephone which is a droid Razr Maxx is this: i. Get to apps, ii. find 'files' in the files folder select "internal storage" and then, 3. become to the binder that has "dcim" that is the one that contains all the pictures. 4. Once there, select all pictures. 5. Get back to the file screen and select "SD Card" 6. select "move"
I contacted my support team and those were the steps I was told to follow and it worked out dandy! Continue in mind nonetheless this is just for if yous have an SD carte inside the phone. If you don't have one I'one thousand sure yous can become ane. ^^ That'south what I did, then I just put the SD card in my new phone once I had everything on it already. Hope this helps for anyone else facing this trouble! It should be roughly the same steps for other droid phones. Adept Luck!

How-do-you-do, and thank you for the message and suggestions. I actually did get a cord (equally y'all mentioned) a while dorsum that connects the prison cell to the usb port on the pc, but nothing happens when they're hooked up... I expected a window with options to open upwards or something. I've looked upward help topics, etc., concerning AutoPlay settings, and tinkering with the "Import Pictures and Videos" dialog box, but null will even admit that there is a device (the cell) hooked upward to the pc. I found mass storage on my quondam telephone under the "tools". Simply and then it said the "card" was not plugged in. (I take a usb cablevision that works)

I have this aforementioned problem with my cheap flip phone. I was wondering why I can't accept a motion picture and only plug it in via USB, ...device institute, driver found, etc. Merely no, can't do it. I started wondering why it's made difficult to practise, if you practise find a way. Does it brand sense that some prison cell phone companies make some phones that don't allow downloading directly to a computer because they don't make money that way? They merely brand money if you lot use up your minutes sending pictures via cell phone towers, from phone to phone or from phone to cell tower to estimator. But they don't make money if you download pics from your phone directly to your computer and and then email the picture. I can't find this theory anywhere on the internet simply doesn't it sound plausible? It may exist an answer to "part" of the problem(?)
